AOC on Trump's Tax Disclosures.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

@AOC
Wouldn’t you think someone who personally lost over a BILLION dollars (“more than nearly any other taxpayer in America”) be vulnerable to shady activity to get out of that hole?

If they became the most powerful public servant in America, wouldn’t you want to see their taxes? 🤔

She has raised a very important point.

Trump is vulnerable to espionage. He would never get a security clearance if he were not POTUS

When people see an article by Andy Borowitz from the New Yorker, you know it is going to be sarcastic and satirical because he has built his reputation on those qualities in his writing. Unlike in person or even phone communications, body language and vocal tone are not there to signify sarcasm so there have to be other markers in written communication and that is either in the context, direct signalling, or in the reputation of the author.

Too often people may actually not be signalling sarcasm when writing something that appears to be sarcasm. That can create problems.

Once he goes under the microscope his life is going to be wrecked. Winning the Presidency in 2020 is in my mind the single most important thing in the world right now. Climate crisis, the Constitution, the rule of law - EVERYTHING is at risk because of this monstrosity.

would land anyone else in federal prison for many years. Penalties and unpaid back taxes alone would destroy Trump. Federal tax laws have real teeth, it's how they finally got Capone. But, Scarface didn't have the opportunity to put in hand-picked henchmen at the IRS and DOJ before Eliot Ness nailed him.

And on top of lying about his financial losses to avoid paying taxes, the source of all this money would likely prove Trump is, at best, an international (drug?) money launderer and, at worst, a traitor, considering the many positions he's taken to benefit the Saudis, Russians and others as president.

There never seems to be an end to Trump's criminality. Every rock turned over in this miserable con man's life reveals yet more sleaze. Still, he skates every time. Where are the Untouchables when you really need them?

Sadly, many would answer "no not really" Those that don't care if he's a criminal. if he shoots someone on 5th avenue, runs a fraudulent university, or cheats on his taxes.

As long as he keeps brown people out, and closes abortion centers.

lending institutions ask millions of their customers for copies of their taxes when reviewing loan applications. This isn't science. It's smart and responsible lending, to ensure that they don't get stiffed in the long run.

Why is rump so special and exempt from this same request and why is he being so adamant in not showing his returns?

Because simply, there is a problem with his taxes, in that he's lied on them and lied on them big time. Look at his history on lying ... already over 10000 lies and going. Since more than likely he's perjured himself on his tax returns, he's already guilty of a financial crime of sorts, both federal and state.

I'll give tRump credit for one thing: he has learned to exploit loopholes and gaps in our system like nobody's business - and I used to think Karl Rove to be the ultimate diabolical genius. How wrong I was!

He's a failure as a business man -- he's too narcissistic to succeed because he cannot accept advice from those more savvy than himself. But claiming the huge losses he's claimed would reduce his own tax bill by millions.

So he's stuck in the middle of his lies: his returns either prove his enormous failure in business OR his enormous tax fraud OR both. The Party of Treason, of course, will pooh pooh the reports about his returns, and the media may allow it to slip down the memory hole in a week or so.
