However, it is important to keep in mind that he and his businesses are headquartered in NYC. And Trump is 0-2 in conflicts with the state over taxes.

Base their returns on the federal return. In my state you have to file a copy of your federal return with the state return since the AGI from that is used. Hope NY does that !

BUT--- AGI is certainly taken from the Federal return when filling out the state return...

Which would mean NYS trusts you to report your AGI accurately. In my career, I came across the concept that the tax return only shows what you put on it, and that the W-2 is better since it comes from a third party. Dotard would not have W-2s. Maybe some 1099s? Probably not, too much for the little people.
