I think I just found the Rosetta Stone of Trump-era conservatism

This is an excerpt from "Taking a Chance on God: Liberating Theology for Gays, Lesbians, and Their Lovers, Families, and Friends" (Actually a good read for GLBTQ Christians and their families and friends):

For those who can't see the picture, it states that the midrange family (A type of dysfunctional family where "loving means controlling" and family members seek to get power over other members of the family among other things. Also a good read) is tied to a perspective that sees the heterosexual rapist as more mature than a homosexual in a genuinely loving relationship.

This sounds like a common thing among the right today...

A disturbed and deviant heterosexual is still more "normal" than a GLBTQ person.
A white man waving the Nazi flag is still more "American" than an immigrant.
A white school shooter is not "as bad" as potential violence from a Muslim or immigrant.

I'm curious for families with Trump supporters in them, read about dysfunctional midrange families, did that seem like a thing?
