The idea that Iran did not call Trump because Kerry, who holds no power, told them not to is asinine. In the first place, there are many Kerry comments that rather than leaving the deal, Trump could have tried to expand it. In fact, Macron tried to get him to do that. NOT TO MENTION THE WH PHONES CAN CALL OTHERS. If Trump wanted to talk to leaders in Iran, it would have happened.

It is pretty obvious that Kerry's concern was avoiding war and being a good representative of the US.
