Hurd made it sound simple because it is simple. It’s common sense that since there is a dispute about what is in the report between Mueller and Barr, Congress had heard from Barr, so they should also hear from Mueller.

The White House doesn’t want Mueller talking or answering questions from Congress, because he will stomp their false narrative that the report cleared Trump into the ground.

Rep. Hurd’s comments demonstrate that Trump has painted the Republicans into a corner on Mueller. Every time that Mitch McConnell says case closed, the pressure grows to have Mueller testify.

At some point. Mueller is going to speak, and when it does it will turn our simmering national crisis into a blazing inferno that will consume Trump and all of his enablers in the Republican Party.

The game plan for trump and the repubs is to refuse to provide anything that has been subpoenaed. This includes not allowing folks to testify. This is much worse than with nixon. Eventually, just like with nixon, it will go before the Supreme Court. nixon thought since he nominated some of them, they would rule for him. They didn't. The current Supreme Court will be known by history as the Roberts Court. Will Roberts want to be known as a total repub lapdog? Same with overturning Roe v Wade which has been settled law since 1973. Is this what Roberts wants to be known for?

9. Mueller is still a federal employee but he's about to retire

I just read on DU this week that it's a matter of a couple of weeks, and soon Mueller will be a private citizen. Maybe the delay is because he's wrapping up the counter-espionage investigation.(?) It has been turned over to other agencies to complete that part of the investigation.

I'm sure we'll hear more very soon.
