I saw them on TV laughing and joking about everything that is going on. Contempt, no problem it's a joke, Mueller testifying, no problem. Not a care in the world, It's really depressing.
Can anyone explain Rosenstein and what he has done. Talk about playing both sides of the fences. Someone should subpoena him.

I think this sucks and is dangerous but has been dangerous for a long time now; they are picking fruit.

(115,615 posts)if they actually do get in trouble. But they're fools if they can count on Spanky pardoning them, so they have to keep kissing his ass publicly no matter what they might think privately. I think Comey was absolutely right when he said Trump ate Rosenstein's soul, but I don't think Barr ever had one. One of the other talking heads remarked that Rosenstein is weak, which made it easy for Trump to eat his soul in a few quick gulps, without even having to chew.

(52,126 posts)barr's idea of a cover-up (and donald fraud's as well) is simply to lie about it, deny it, bully your way through it.
no nuance, no thought, really everyone knows you're guilty but you act like they're not going to do anything about it and usually they don't do anything about it.
rosenstein knew that there had to be an investigation, and mueller was enough of a boy scout that just shutting him down wasn't going to work. so let it continue. as long as they were indicting russians and people donald fraud had no further use for, it was fine. better than fine, it gave people the necessary sacrificial lambs without causing donald fraud any real pain.
the investigation finally gets shut down right before they can really sink their teeth into donald fraud or his kids.
it stops with enough detail for people to see that it was a serious investigation so they can't scream that it was all a cover-up.
but it stops without indicting anyone really damaging to donald fraud, at least nothing he can't manage given the controlled media.
i really think they did their part of the cover-up and donald fraud should have just gone along with it. bad press for a week or two and then it's pretty much over and done with.
and then donald fraud goes and picks an completely unnecessary high-stakes fight with congress, giving them fresh cause for impeachment....

(35,950 posts)so weird creepy, I feel like we're being swept along by some stealth undertow and have no eye on any shore, or where it will leave us.
The Democratic leadership had better steer this ship with resolve and perserverance, because right now, the currents are rough on all of us.

Now, looking back, unfortunately I was right.

(14,913 posts)anyone below him in the hierarchy would bow to Trump's bidding and shut down Mueller if they were given the power to do so that there was insufficient attention paid to the apparent conflict of Rosenstein being a witness to -- AND PARTICIPANT IN -- Trump's obstruction, which was itself a subject of Mueller's investigation.
On one hand Rosenstein should have been accosted daily with questions about his failure to recuse himself. On the other hand, Mueller would have been shut down sooner if Noel Francisco (the next un-recused AND Senate-confirmed person down in the org chart) had been given the chance.

(73,511 posts)Rosenstein is a weak person. He agrees with whoever he is with at the moment. Hence, he knowingly writes the excuse for firing Comey, then hires Mueller. He says he can wear a wire to record Trump, then thanks Trump for being so darned nice. He protects Mueller, then stabs him in the back.
