Beyond parody.

Chris Wallace: "It's not China that pays the tariffs, it's American consumers."
Larry Kudlow: "Well it's both sides."
CW: "But it's not both sides. It's American companies and American consumers."
LK: "You're right. Again, both sides."

Beyond parody.

How the fuck could anyone believe that the cost of tariffs are swallowed by the government - the consumer ALWAYS pays. The Trump regime just repeats bollocks incessantly and a lot of very stupid cultists believe it...

A) Asking supplier to cut their price,
B) Absorbing cost by decreased profits,
C) Passing the increased cost to customer.

While there is undoubtedly a bit of 'A' and 'B' going on, the vast majority of these tariff increases... actually tax increases... is borne by the end customer.

Tariffs are taxes.

They don't have to drop their prices to absorb our tariffs, they can just sell their stuff anywhere they want.
So no, it's NOT BOTH SIDES. Got it now?

I'm surprised you weren't aware of this. China only came into being around 1900 when the U.S. saw an opportunity to have other people in foreign country make goods on the cheap. Before then, all Chinese lived in caves and ate nothing but mud pies. They had no culture at all. That's why the Rump will win this war: China needs us more than we need them.

We went to the Terri-cotta Army exhibit here a few years ago. Qin Shi was a genius. Standardizing weights blew my mind. The simplicity of it. His political acumen was off the charts. At one point my wife turned to me and said, "It's as if he time traveled"

even one that is two thousand years old. Now if they covered the terracotta army in gold leaf (or at least spray painted them gold)... That's what he and his followers believe is a sign of true wealth.

Let me try.....

Both sides = corporations and tax payers?

Last time I checked, corporations (i.e., co-conspirators), if their material/ labor costs increase, even if an accountant sneezes, their increased cost of goods are immediately passed on to the consumer (i.e., tax payer). And knowing, that too many corporations and their rich owners and shareholders do not pay their fair share of taxes while knowing tax payers pay for everything.

END OF STORY.

signal China and the US are being hurt, not corporations v consumers. We all know corporations will pay in increased costs tariffs place on goods from China and pass it on to consumers. That's a given.

Understand one thing, China has other markets for its goods where tarriffs aren't imposed. But they are not paying the tarriff anyway, that's the point. US businesses are, which most pass on to consumers.

I'm sorry but I was referring to Kudlow, (financial liar for the WH)
insinuating that the US Consumer and US Tax Payer (the 95% at the bottom
of the food chain) will bear the cost of Trumps ignorance as with all the other
decisions he has made (i.e., the tax cut most never experienced, the boarder
wall that Mexico was going to pay for, the cost of shutting down the government
and too many other needless direct costs).
