Today on NBC Nightly News Lester Holt will be talking to the Central Park Five ahead of their upcoming Netflix series When They See Us.
You know, the guys Donald Trump wanted to receive the death penalty and continued to claim they were guilty even after they were cleared by DNA evidence.
This could get interesting.

The Central Park Five speak
Yusef Salaam. Antron McCray. Raymond Santana. Korey Wise. Kevin Richardson. Five men connected in a way few of us could ever imagine.
Santana said there is never a time when he doesn't think about the episode that brought them together: "It's every day. Constantly." Salaam said that every day it's "probably my second or third thought."
"Probably, like, my fourth thought," said McCray. "Even our conversations is different. It's not normal. Our conversations would be about prison, how we had to survive in prison."
They are known as the Central Park Five, a name they came to share 30 years ago, after a young white woman named Trisha Meili went for a jog in New York's Central Park.

(2,201 posts)This stuff happened thirty years ago.
It's not new. This has been talked about for years, and years.
trump takes a big steaming dump on our constitution almost every 30 MINUTES...and his supporters are fine with it.
Why on earth should anyone believe there's even a half-way reasonable chance that rehashing something from thirty years ago will make any difference at all?

(19,972 posts)this comes at a time when some are contemplating impeachment largely based on his disregard for the rule of law. This is more evidence that maybe the old racist has NEVER had a decent respect for the rule of law and probably never will.

(2,201 posts)I wish there were, but I don't think so. And, I don't think you really do either.
Here's your post:

I appreciate your optimism, but I think you're just hoping.
trumps supporters don't care about this. Not all of them, but more than just some of them, are glad he wanted innocent black people killed for a crime that they didn't commit.
I think that your mistake is in thinking that all of trump's supporters actually think trump isn't a racist, and that he does have respect for the law.
A lot of his supporters are racists, and a lot of them only have respect for some laws....the ones they like.

(2,201 posts)Nothing new is going to come out tonight about the "Central Park Five", and trump. A few people that had never heard about the case will be educated, but that's about it.
Then the Netflix series will come out, and it will be pretty much the same thing. Some people will find out about some stuff that happened a long time ago.
I wish it would matter, but it's not going to. Not. one. bit.
