You are under assault, Trump told a group of natural gas workers in Connecticut. And now they talk about the Green New Deal. The Green New Deal. Everybody go home, you just lost your Jobs. The Green New Deal, thats a hoax like the hoax I just went through.
Under that deal, everybody in this room gets fired, he continued. All of the thousands of guys and women standing in these buildings get fired, they go because under the Green New Deal, they dont like clean, beautiful natural gas. They dont like anything.
Trump noted that progressive politicians sort of like wind even though it kills all the birds.
You want to see a bird cemetery? Go under a windmill sometime, the president ranted. You will see the saddest, you got every type of bird. You know, in California you go to jail for five years if you kill a bald eagle. You go under a windmill, you see them all over the place. Not a good situation.

(51,584 posts)Isn't that what he said before? Now they kill birds. I guess the next Exec Order will be to make all windmills illegal or maybe he'll have the military build a bunch at the border to scare off those damn immigrants.

(4,533 posts)Sadly birds are killed in incomprehensibly huge numbers from many sources. Wind mills are a tiny tiny tiny percentage of deaths. And the oil powered or coal powered plants replaced by wind mills kill vastly more. Wind mills make the world safer for birds.

(82,849 posts)"Oh, that is just straight-up bullshit! You don't know what you're talking about." Trump has more issues with windmills than anyone since Don Quixote.
ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)Actually, Don Quixote went mad reading too much. The Rump is like the mirror version of Don Quixote, the one born stupid who has never picked up a book in his life and probably does not know how to read.

(10,123 posts)Right now, wind turbines kill about one bird each per year. They are currently researching several ways to reduce this. One I recall is painting the blades purple to reduce attraction of insects.
It is a small fraction of how many birds are killed by cell and radio towers.
It is almost nothing compared to how many birds cats kill.
How many birds die per year because of buildings ... like Trump Towers. Many.
Here's some annual bird loss estimates % and cause

2,400,000,000 72.2% Cats
599,000,000 18.0% Collision - Building Glass
214,500,000 6.5% Collision - Vehicles
72,000,000 2.2% Poison
25,500,000 0.8% Collisions - Electrical lines
6,600,000 0.2% Collisions - Communication towers
5,600,000 0.2% Electrocutions
750,000 0.0% Oil Pits
234,012 0.0% Collisions - Land-based Wind Turbines

The projected loss of neotropical migrant songbirds is very high:
53% in the Great Lakes region, 45% loss in the Mid-Atlantic,
44% loss in the northern Great Plains, and 32% fewer in the Pacific Northwest
One million species threatened with extinction because of humans

Some of these birds are threatened to be lost forever and turbines are at or near the bottom of the list as a cause.
Let's get STOOPID out of the White House so that someone there can comprehend the issue.
