Meet Jaime Harrison who is challenging Lindsey Graham!

https://jaimeharrison.com/jaime/

Meet Jaime
Raised by his grandparents and young mother in Orangeburg, SC, Jaime has had a lifetime of firsts as he gained extensive experience working in nonprofits, government, and the private sector.

A first generation college graduate with degrees from Yale University and Georgetown University Law Center, Jaime joined the staff of House Majority Whip James Clyburn. Jaime went on to become the youngest person and first African American to serve as executive director of the U.S. House Democratic Caucus and floor director for the House Democrats’ Whip operation. After working in the Capitol, Jaime oversaw the Podesta Group’s transportation practice and worked with important South Carolina institutions and businesses like the University of South Carolina, Michelin, and the South Carolina Ports Authority. Later, he was elected the South Carolina Democratic Party’s first African-American chair. He currently serves as associate chair and counsel of the Democratic National Committee.

Jaime understands the importance of civility and working to get things done. He recently coauthored his first book, “Climbing the Hill: How To Build A Career In Politics And Make A Difference,” a nonpartisan guide to creating a lasting and impactful career in public service.

Barrack won a senate seat with no previous elective experience.

Of course, he wasn't running for office in South Carolina. And he was not running against an incumbent -- actually, his opponent was a narrow minded extremist idiot and moron, a worthless jackass who actually and publicly disowned his own daughter when she came out as gay.

OK. Barrack was lucky. He would have been running against a very popular, handsome white man who had become a force in local (Chicago) GOP politics. But the guy -- Ryan, his name was -- had to drop out of the race and politics altogether when it came to light that his wife (Startrek Voyager's own "7 of 9", Jeri Ryan) divorced him because, among other things, he took her to sex clubs and tried several times (unsuccessfully) to get her to, ahem, perform on stage with others.

Seriously. He did that. The mother of his children. Jesus, these people!

Anyway, the GOP had no candidate so they asked Alan Keyes, the above referenced asshole, to run. Keyes had publicly lambasted Hillary Clinton for running for senator in New York when she was not a citizen of that state. How sickening is it, he asked, that this is allowed to happen? Keyes is from Maryland. Ran against Obama in Illinois. Didn't even flinch at the opportunity. Like I said, an asshole.

Harrison will be a good candidate, and he has a future, but Graham will win the primary with 70% no matter who runs against him, and SC is consistently a 55-45 State on a generic ballot. I expect Graham to win by at least 8 points.
I am afraid he is in office for the same term as the guy he replaced - Strom Thurmond.
That said, we are already raising money and will get a lot of attention during the crucial Dem primary, but sucking up to Trump has removed Graham’s only possible way to lose, which was in the primary by a Teabagger.
