U.S. Farmers: We 'Will Never Vote For Trump Again'

Donald Trump is in the middle of a trade war and it is affecting farmers in the United States in a very negative way. Farmers in Iowa have spoken to CNN regarding what Trump’s battles on the trade front have done to their livelihoods. Some of them said outright that they regret their 2016 votes for Trump.

Larry Angler is one such farmer. According to what he told CNN, he could lose nearly $100,000 in 2019. That problem was exacerbated by flooding in the area as well. When reporters inquired about whether or not Mr. Angler voted for Trump in 2016, he responded thusly:

“I did — I’ll never vote for him again!”

Robert Ewoldt is another farmer from Iowa. He is now driving a truck at night due to the way the trade war has affected his farming business. He said of his truck driving job:
“That’s what’s keeping this farm going.”
Ewoldt also said that he regretted voting for Trump in the last presidential election cycle.

It is often said that Trump supporters are unusually loyal. However, this trade war is costing some of those supporters lots of money. Some may even be on the edge of losing their farms altogether. It will be interesting to see if more of Trump’s voters begin to peel away in the wake of all of this.

It's happening all over the country! Farmers and ranchers don't have health insurance unless they pay the full cost themselves. There maybe some that are Medicaid but they probably won't admit it. Even if they can afford health insurance what good does it do if the closest hospital or urgent care is one or two hours away? In rural areas Medicaid and Medicare is the greatest source of income.

statements in the 1960 election run up. As a NFO organizer in North Western Wisconsin, know what it is to be called Commie and unpatriotic by the Republican Party at that point in time. Hey,we knew there would be a day when the Dairy Industry would be taken over by the likes of Dean Foods,Kraft, and Bordens and all those so called Patriotic Farmers would be starved out by the big Corporate 's.

What is wrong with trying to save a industry via or by having a voice. BTW,sold my interest in 1962 and never looked back knowing today would happen.

We'll probably be deep in the shit in Iran by that point, and/or under some kind of escalating "national emergency" related to brown people. I won't be the slightest bit surprised if and when they just announce that all normal everything is cancelled, and the MAGAt-man is just going to be in charge from now on until we get through this rough patch. Or, you know, forever.

Can you point out where in the constitution it says the president can unilaterally shut down an election?

This same conspiracy theory gets tossed about with each president.

Right wingers said Obama was going to cancel the election and the left said George W Bush was going to.

During the height of the Civil War election went on as usual.

During WWII elections went on as usual.

After 9/11 elections when on as usual.

This is more along the lines of the confederacy...wherein things didn't exactly go along as if everything was all normal.

These fuckers do not care even slightly what the Constitution says. If it suits their purposes come next summer/fall, the GOP would have no qualms whatsoever doing something unprecedented.

Not saying "this is definitely going to happen" and obviously I was pushing the idea to the extreme limit as far as potential scenarios, but don't say nobody told you so if we end up with tanks in the streets at some point under this clown and his criminal "political party."

From Vox:

...

During an Oval Office event with Hungary’s far-right leader Viktor Orbán on Monday, Trump outlined a plan to redistribute money from American importers to farmers hurt by his escalating trade war with China that might fall short of socialism, but is certainly a far cry from the values of free markets and free trade traditionally embraced by Republicans.

“Out of the billions of dollars that we’re taking in [from tariffs], a small portion of that will be going to our farmers,” Trump said. “We’re going to take the highest year — the biggest purchase that China has ever made with our farmers, which is about $15 billion — and do something reciprocal to our farmers.”

...

I have to hear what they have to say after they get their payoff.

It is a sorry embarrassment to our country, but these people are so brainwashed by Fox Noise that if they lose their farms and end up as serfs working poisoned fields at megafarms (formerly theirs) now owned by Monsanto, with a life expectancy of 37.6 years due to cancer they cannot afford to have treated, THEY WILL STILL VOTE FOR TRUMP.

Why?

Because MAGA, the God Squad, Hannity's insanity, take your pick.
