He said there’s nothing better than rump wants than to play the princess victim.

I actually don’t know. I’m with Warren in shit yeah he’s gotta be impeached like he’s the fucking worst punk ever elected...TREASON.

But I’m not sure about the politics. Nothing has been normal for a long time.

experience. He has not thought through what will be exposed publicly. He thinks that it will just be a word that is bandied about, not a public process that will air his dirty laundry.

He’s used to lying and not being challenged. Well, he will be greatly challenged during impeachment, with plenty of witnesses coming forth with damning evidence.

and he could be correct. Not only is our society built even more around immediate gratification but the speed at which political news comes roaring down the pike these days, with what would have been major stories happening weekly or quicker, then it has enhanced those tendencies.

A lot of the folks on this board would have never made it through the Watergate process.

The "spin" of the post 98 impeachment is dems gained a net 2 seats as if gaining seats is the goal, gaining control of congress is the goal and the democrats didn't do that.

The other spin is Clinton became more popular right afterward but his popularity fell sharply post impeachment and so did his honesty numbers to the point Gore ran away from him.

Positive election outcomes didn't happen for the party of Johnson or Nixon post impeachment procedures.

The party of the impeached does not fare well post impeachment and never has

Which brings me to your earlier post:

You're absolutely right. Cheeto and his gangsters are very much planning, or at least mulling, some Gulf of Tonkin-style event as a pretext for war.

Trump has openly said so himself, that he'd like something "like 9/11" to make him a "war president."

Worked for Dubya, after all.

Government is required in senior year of high school. That's it. And because of the pressure from administrators to raise standardized test scores, teachers rarely mention anything currently in the news. This state is handing graduation diplomas to kids who can bluff their way through a basic algebra problem but couldn't have an intelligent discussion of the impeachment issue as pertains to the current situation if their lives depended on it.

Not only are kids given tests over and over sometimes, they are twice as coddled to make the numbers look good. 'We're going to give you some extra 'prayer points', to get you over the hump.' etc.
The fabric of the nation is tearing bc there's no leader at the top. Just some guy who thinks he deserves to be pampered on the American dime.
Tariffs, and destroying stuff other people have done, isn't governing. It's just a sham, to fill in for the sham election.
Meanwhile, trump is looking forward to his private meeting w putin at the G20.
