I don't believe it for a second. Those people have been in politics for many years and they've seen all the moves.
Like Holmes said to Watson, the game's afoot.
And we're the spectators.

(23,002 posts)Only vote I saw, was to adjorn. After the repub made a big statement, and Jerry repeated a few threats. We are expected to believe congress has everything close to their vests, and pre-planned out, but, all it seems to be sometimes is, "Now we will adjourn to go think about some things, and have lunch." But yet, get excited and stay excited about the NEXT election, bc, the last one was brought in banner results so far. We really came through in 2018 for congress, where's the reach around? if government wants us to fight, lead by example.
Russia is attacking us. Everyone agrees on that. Everyday that goes by we give up just a little on our Country.
PS...re. short-cuts, see trump...he's reconfiguring our country through a series of short cuts. Not so sure about your premise regards that.JMHO.

(6,222 posts)but my take is that they expected him (or wanted him) to not show up so they could move the next piece. At least I hope so.
I'm not very good at chess, but I would think that the Dems would expect his not showing up to have more press value than showing up and having a repeat of Barr's appearance.
