My fourth great Grandfather was Gov Charles Slaughter Morehead, pro slavery, anti-secessionist, last Whig/Know Nothing Governor of Kentucky. He was put into prison without due process when Lincoln suspended habeas corpus.
A nephew of his James Morehead of Ohio won a posthumus Medal of Honor when he took part in the Andersonville raid (the great train chase) as a Union Sargent.
