Voldemort vs Trump

Rowling compared the two and I remembered scoffing a bit. But I just rewatched Deathly Hallows and the first scene with Voldemort with his “cabinet” taking away Malloy’s wand felt resonant. My goodness, he is a clown version of Voldemort!

I got the same feeling watching that scene in the movie that I get with Trump. And you end up feeling sorry for Malloy, just like I, to this day, feel sorry for Sessions. I can’t believe I feel sorry for Sessions. He tried to use the 1924 immigration act that the Ku Klux Klan vigorously supported as a model for immigration reform for today. But he’s such a victim of Trump. Same disregard for people, same inability to feel empathy for anyone but himself. I did not realize he was this bad during the election. He’s just a human black hole.

You have more kindness and empathy in you than me, srob. I can't muster up an ounce of sympathy for Sessions. Too many other people in line in front of him to feel bad for, and a lot of them have problems Sessions helped create.

...what a dictator and totalitarian regime look like and how to combat it. Take away the magic wands, and it really resonates with me as an adult Muggle.
