Congress and Trump stiff arm

Just heard someone on MSNBC on Stephanie Rhule who gave the 3 ways congress could force things to happen. But first he talked about Eleanor Roosevelt and her quote about you can't be treated like an inferior person unless you are allowing it. The guy said that congress is allowing Trump to treat them as an inferior.
I am totally on board with that sentiment. They are allowing Trump to treat them that way. He said that there were those 3 ways they can assert themselves but they are choosing not to.
Why did we go out there in such large numbers to give them the power and they aren't doing it? This is what throws the cold water on voter turnout, because what's the purpose?

understand the background strategy involved in the current political mess we have in this country. But I don't let it make me think that the best thing for me to do is sit at home on election day. I'll get to the poll and make my position clear with my vote! Come hell or high or cold water I'll do my best to make sure my vote counts!
