By blocking every witness and every subpoena, he is calling Democrat's hand. He wants us to think that only by impeachment can we get the documents and testimony we need. The truth is that he will continue to deny both even for impeachment hearings.
trump knows that getting reelected is his only hope of avoiding jail. He sees the impeachment hearings as another way for him and his lackeys in the congress to dominate the news coverage and paint themselves as victims. It worked for kavanaugh and for thomas. Both were dead in the sights guilty, but by crying and whining and shouting their anger, they swayed the stupid people. That is trump's only hope. To go after the stupid vote. It worked in 2016. I don't know if waiting until the election will work. But I'm pretty sure that impeachment calls for a loyal and patriotic congress and an informed public. I don't see a lot of evidence for either. We keep "winning" the "strongly worded letter" and protest march contests, while trump keeps packing the courts with loyal loons. I think he is banking on impeachment because he feels like the senate, the media, and the rigged courts will protect him. Actually all he needs is the senate - and he's got that.
