that's right. A fucking cat. Socks, to be exact. Bill Clinton's pet cat.
Oh yeah, there was also an investigation into the Clinton's Christmas Card list.
I really wish people/talking heads would refresh the GOP's memories when talking about Trump being treated "unfairly".....

(14,961 posts)the postage to send the letters from Socks, to the children that would write him. This is so infuriating, considering Trump's weekly golfing trips, oh and of course all the flipping treason.

I have never seen such hypocrisy in all my life.

(14,961 posts)article that popped up was a fact check from Mother Jones, "Did the Clinton's try to whack a cat?"... I just can't believe these people and their looney rumor mill.

(79,296 posts)Burtons true magnum opus was a floor speech he delivered on the evening of August 2, 1994. The hour-long speech addressed the death of Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster, which was ruled a suicide. But Burton alleged that the body had been moved to its location at Fort Marcy Park in northern Virginia, and that Foster may not have fired the gun at all. The implication was that Foster was murdered, which Burton further expressed by insisting there was a connection between Fosters death and the Whitewater investigation of the Clintons business dealings in Arkansas.
Most notable was his own home forensic experiment to disprove the official finding that those in the area of the park would not have heard the sound of a gunshot, because of the combination of traffic and construction noises, and Fosters own head muffling the sound.
We, at my house, with a homicide detective, tried to re-create a head, and fired .384-inch barrel into that, to see if the sound could be heard from a hundred yards away. Even though there was an earth-mover moving around in the background, making all kinds of racket and you could hear the bullet clearly.
Burtons prop used for the experiment was variously reported as a watermelon or a pumpkin, though other sources have since said it was really a cantaloupe.

(14,961 posts)about Vince Foster and also Pizzagate. These people that come up with this crap are seriously insane. The PG videos actually had pool tiles depicting sex with little boys. I don't think I will ever forget them. Not because I think Podesta was a pedophile or that it was even his house, but because someone actually has a home with all this pedo imagery in it.

(19,199 posts)in 1993, the republicans have had a hard-on for Hillary, and not in a sexual way. Bill was going to put Hillary in charge of "universal healthcare" and that drove the republicans around the bend. Imagine, a woman, the First Lady of the United States, actually doing something other than reading to children and baking cookies. They've never let up on her since. Insult after insult, investigation after investigation, the GOP has been on a search and destroy mission with Hillary in their cross-hairs. And yeah, the cat. Socks the cat. I remember that, unfortunately.
And in the face of all that she's remained classy, and still has the best interest of the people of the United States in mind.
Donald Trump? As he has since his first day as president, he acts like a petulant 5 year old. A petulant 5 year old who can't seem to tell the truth about anything!

(37,158 posts)In early September 1992, Hedges approached his friend, David Tell, to request help from the Bush administration for an expedited search of Clinton's files. Tell, a young Republican activist, was director of Opposition Research at the Bush re-election campaign. In that position, Tell headed the division that dug up dirt on opponents, a dark art known in political circles as "oppo." Already, Tell had investigated a number of rumors about Clinton and even probed the work record of Clinton's mother when she was a nurse in Louisiana.

The search, however, found no letter renouncing citizenship. All the State Department officials discovered was a passport application with staple holes and a slight tear in the corner. Though the tear was easily explained by the routine practice of stapling a photo, money order or routing slip to the application, the Bush administration sleuths were not easily discouraged. Tamposi seized on the ripped page to justify a new suspicion, that a Clinton ally at the State Department had removed the renunciation letter. Tamposi shaped that bizarre possibility into a criminal referral which was forwarded to the Justice Department. Thin as the case might be, the Bush re-election effort now had its official action that meant they could elevate the renunciation rumor into a public issue.

Oliver dispatched his own team to the State Department to examine what was behind the mysterious passport criminal referral. When Oliver learned that the evidence consisted only of staple holes, he blew the whistle on what looked like another GOP dirty trick. Within days, the FBI, too, rejected the tampering suspicion. The passport gambit backfired on the Bush campaign.

(19,199 posts)It seems there are no depths to which the GOP will not sink to smear their opponents. I remember David Tell though. He was an asshole of the first order. He would have been a star in the Nixon administration.
