Several pundits this AM said Trump's stunt "united" the Caucus behind Pelosi. Not.

The Caucus has ALWAYS been united behind the Speaker.

The press is claiming that Pelosi was in trouble with her caucus but Trump's foolishness yesterday shored up support for her within the caucus and helped her buy time.

But that's not what happened. The Caucus was already united behind and around Pelosi. Even those who think impeachment proceedings should start sooner than she does have always stood behind her and, whoever watched and listened to Members' comments made after yesterday's Caucus meeting and before the White House meeting could see that.

Not one member came out of that meeting with a word of criticism of pelosi or her tactics. Everyone interviewed was fully supportive of her.

For example, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez said the following on her way out of the meeting: "I trust the Speaker is taking a measured approach to ensure that we're moving everyone forward. I know being Speaker is hard. Holding this party together is a difficult task. But I think we know what we need to do. I personally believe we need to move forward."

Hardly a rebel yell ...

It's obvious that Pelosi had full support of her Caucus BEFORE she went to the White House yesterday.

It wasn't the Caucus but the media that was beating up on Pelosi. And after the White House meeting once again showed the Speaker in charge and on top of her game, the press had to back off of their breathless "Pelosi in trouble as Caucus rebels!" hyperbole. I guess the only way to do that was to claim the White House meeting somehow "rescued" Pelosi from a mutiny that never existed.

1. I like AOC but she has to stay in the background on this one.

I know she is the future, but I'm not real fond of her saying she didn't think she could support Biden if he were the nominee and some other anti party things she has said. United we stand, divided we get another 4 years of Trump.

2. Perhaps. But her comment about Pelosi after the caucus meeting was just right

It was clear that Pelosi snapped everyone into line and they all came out singing from the same sheet music. As it should be.

Pelosi went into the White House with her caucus united behind her. Her caucus didn't unite around her as a result of the meeting.

Nancy is playing this man like a cheap fiddle. Let her do her work and he goes down.

That is simply not true.

Just stop it.

It is not a good look to post blatantly false statements.

6. if she had said that that would be the dominant raging storm on DU and elsewhere for weeks

I would (and I have been a big defender of her) be one of the first to condemn her and rip into her IF she actually did that. She would never do that, IMHO, she is far too intelligent and too caring of our nation to help that fucker Trump.

Some of the Bernie people I know in RL are having a fit she is doing things with Warren and has so far refused to endorse Sanders. I truly hope she does NOT endorse Bernie. I think she is really leaning towards Warren.

I really apologise for coming off so strong, I am sorry.

President Obama.

Again, sorry for coming off so hard. (I edited my 2nd reply to you just now to include that as well).

Cheers
