I'd much prefer impeachment over snarky banter. The latter is Trumps game. Bonx May 2019 #14
if you watched the presser, you would have seen that the Speaker didn't engage in "snarky banter." StarfishSaver May 2019 #15

"I'm not going to talk about her. I responded as the Speaker of the House to the president of the United States. Other conversations people want to have among themselves is up to them. Next."

And then she slapped down the next question with "Why don't you go ask that of the president of the United States?"

Damn! She's at the top of her game!

Because that would be hard, and Trump might say the reporter is being very rude.

I hope some of the press folks feel chastened. They've been doing a piss-poor job for the last two years, letting the administration get away with stonewalling, diversion, and name-calling instead of persisting in their jobs. Yeah, it's difficult getting an uncooperative public official to return your calls or answer your questions. But that's part of your goddam job! You're supposed to ask inconvenient and uncomfortable questions, and report on the answer you get. If you don't get an answer, you report that. Instead, a lot of journalists or their media employers have just quit trying.

(Trump walks into clubhouse, sees a large group of people seated in a circle with an empty chair in the center...)

Her comments were substantive, pithy and full of information.

And, btw, "snarky banter" isn't Trump's game. He's not intelligent or clever enough to be either snarky or engage in banter
