Pelosi tells colleagues Trump is 'villainous' — and he wants to be impeached
The House speaker's message to Democrats came as vocal support for impeachment rose among lawmakers in the caucus.

WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told her Democratic colleagues Thursday that President Donald Trump “wants to be impeached” so that he can be vindicated by the Senate.

Pelosi made the comments at a morning meeting, two Democratic aides told NBC News, who also said that Pelosi called Trump’s actions “villainous.”

The aide said that Pelosi was implying that she will stick to her current plan to keep investigating the president and his administration without jumping to impeachment, but Pelosi didn’t explicitly say that in her remarks.

The House speaker's message comes a day after she and Trump tangled over her claim that he had engaged in a “cover-up,” as vocal support for impeachment surged in the Democratic caucus.

continues to get under his skin and drive him nuts. Shame and embarrassment before the American people is what will bring this man to his knees, and maybe we don't need impeachment to do that.

What happens if investigations take all the way through say, next Summer? Evidence of Trump and the GOP's misdeeds has by that time piled up so high so as not to be denied by any but the most benighted Trumplican and reclaiming the Senate becomes the electoral rallying point to rid us of the scourge of Trump. Truly it's going to take a bigger blue wave than the last to take the Senate. The GOP's suicidal push for anti-abortion legislation prior to elections is going to backfire, bigly. They're going to bring a lot of ladies out to vote, but not in the way they would like. Add a campaign by Dems to rid Washington of the evil corrupt wannabe dictator sounds like a pretty good recipe for success.

you speak of was not much more than pissed off suburbanites, who were upset that they cannot deduct more than $10K in state and local taxes. There's a reasonable chance that by November 2020 they'll either get over it, or transfer their anger to the state and local authorities who tax them that much.

If it had been a broad based wave, we'd have won seats in the Senate. And Senator Beto O'Rourke would be running for president.

analyses of the 2018 election, many of them posted here. I'm not going to dig them all up for you. Tell me any district that you've heard of or can find that flipped red to blue that did not have a significant proportion of its voters in the suburbs of a decent sized city. Even Mark Sanford's old district here in SC that flipped has a large number of suburbanites of the greater Charleston area.

Do you dispute my contention that we did not see a blue wave in the US Senate?

If you want Joe Biden to be the nominee, support impeachment, because that will suck all of the oxygen out of the room for other candidates who need the next 8-9 months to get their names and messages out there.

He's already running on that election platform..."Presidential Harassment". Playing victim is the only way he can win. The faster Impeachment is rushed the faster it goes to the Senate and gets "exonerated".

However, the longer it takes, the worse he looks. And lets drop the other shoe, this isn't just about Trump, its the whole Cabal. Everyone involved needs to be investigated.

Here are really the options that are out there:

1. Trump croaks. That might play into GOP hands...

2. 25th Amendment. The Cabinet that had the balls to do it is gone...and I wouldn't be surprised if Moscow Mitch had something to do with preventing it. As it would look like Establishment booting the base.

3. Impeachment in his first term. That gives him exactly what he wants. He's exonerated, kills all the other investigations, etc.

4. Election. This is what he's afraid of. The tradition of not jailing past leaders may save him....but it won't save his family and his business. He'll have his family behind bars and be in financial ruin, watching all his properties get auctioned off while he's left with a base home, granted million dollar home. But no one is going to come near him.

5. Resign. Will his ego allow it? I don't know. Will anyone tell him that this is his best option, some how I doubt it. Will Pence make a deal and pardon him and family? I guess it depends what he wants.
