Obama, DNC, DNCC, DNSC, NYDP, NYDCC and the individual candidates all want donations.

They all call me for money, but I can't contribute to them all, and they often overlap. It gets very frustrating and confusing to keep getting calls. I wish things were bet organized (insert Will Rodgers quote)

already made my plans of how much, to whom and when to contribute but I really appreciate their efforts and ask them how its going.

Turns into a nice conversation.

gotten a COLA, that can be translated into extra cash, yet food and gas has doubled and then some. I really don't have a cent to spare. So if they want to get re-elected they are going to have to do something to get people some income to be able to contribute.

openly admitted war criminals are prosecuted. Let me know when banksters are arrested and prosecuted as frequently as those growing state-approved medical marijuana plants. Let me know when NAFTA is renegotiated, and the efforts to pass the pending let's-send-even-more-jobs-to-foreign-countries is abandoned.

I'll vote for Obama. But they don't need my money.

6. If you don't want to donate money fine, but don't come here and claim they don't need money.

The other side is raising a billion dollars. The Democrats need all the money they can get to keep even in ads.

11. (1) I'll do what I want. (2) You may think that you are an authoritarian who can tell others what

to do, but you cannot with respect to me. (3) I expressly said "they don't need my money." I did not say that "they don't need money."

If they have acted in a manner consistent with liberal and progressive values, neither they nor you have any reason to be concerned about whether they will be able to raise enough money from liberals and progressives.

As I said, I'll vote for Obama as being better than Rmoney, but they don't need my money. If you think that they need your money, you should give it to them.

Anyone who wants to convince them to take action and make commitments for the middle-class consistent with traditional Democratic values should make an effort to do so. Anyone who wants to contribute to them should do so.

13. I could care less what you do with your money.

If your reading comprehension was better, you would have realized that I was identifying your statement as an encouragement against donating. You even got a response from someone agreeing that they wouldn't donate. Do what you want, but campaigning against Democratic candidates is against the rules and when you encourage people not to donate you are violating those rules.

14. Comprehension problem? You are obviously describing your own problem.

My words speak for themselves. They mean what they say.

In contrast, you are either actually taking or pretending to take umbrage with something which I did not say.

At no time were you identifying anything in my "statement as an encouragement against donating." You cannot identify that because I did not say that. When you point to one of two people who responded, and cherry-pick one response while disregarding the other one, the cherry-picked response that you selected does not establish anything that I've said as a "as an encouragement against donating."

What I am saying is that you are falsely accusing me of making a statement which I did not make. I am also saying that you falsely accused me, by implication, of saying that "they don't need money" when I expressly said that "they don't need my money." You falsely implied that I made such statement when you said, at #6 "don't come here and claim they don't need money."

Is it against the rules to misrepresent what others have posted? If so, you are over the line.

7. I was a full donor in 2008 and am totally with you on that, AM.

I never measure bang for buck. As a progressive, I know better. But this whole David v. Goliath spending contest sickens me, and I yelled in 2008 that if they didn't change campaign finance methods, I wouldn't donate again. Boy, did they slap me with Citizens United.

So hey, they'll have to just win on the merits of their ideas, past performance and trustworthiness. I know the slog Obama went through, but as the incumbent it's an easier campaign this time, with or without the war chest. I'll vote, but that's it.

10. I felt the same way, but they've got me

I'm sorry, the potential to lock in place those things never being fixed for the next fifty years was enough to push me back into the contributions game.

I am so frustrated with certain elements of this administration - the word from the field is that they have been simply horrible for animals (the word from employees of all the major orgs that you would be familiar with) - but I'm still sending money.

If I want a world where I can have even a *chance* to change the things that are important to me, we've got to win this election.

The Party of a decades out of step Supreme Court that separates the people from access to justice, the Party of voter suppression - that other party must be stopped. I will pretty much have no hope left if they win.

And Romney has shown himself to be so craven, so lacking in any sort of moral fiber or identifiable beliefs outside of a desire to loot America for his rich buddies that I shudder to think of him occupying the Oval Office. He is unfit for the Presidency.

I hate that they've got me (our Party), but they do. It's too important that they win. I'm ready to fight harder than ever once this election has passed. But there will be no point made, nothing accomplished by me sitting this out financially. The only thing I would accomplish that way is further ensuring a more permanent destruction of the world I want to live in.

I hear you, and I know a lot of what you're feeling, because that's where I was. I'm not there anymore. Our Party is far from perfect - and downright wrongheaded on certain issues - but the other Party is probably the most dangerous political force that has existed in my lifetime.

And our Party really does need your money.

If they have taken the time to call, then they deserve at least $5.00. I personally think that anyone here on DU that is trying to influence other DU'rs not to donate, should be immediately banned.

That is a standard rove tactic and should receive zero tolerance.

I live in Arizona - we need all the help we can get. So now I just bypass them and send the money to the candidates themselves - altho I have been floating a few dollars towards Planned Parenthood.
