Schumer: Trump was 'agitated' during White House infrastructure meeting
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) pushed back against President Trump's claim that he was "calm" during a White House meeting on infrastructure, saying the president seemed "agitated."
"I was in the room yesterday, the president was not loud but he was agitated. And his going around and asking all the members who were in the room was he calm or not, is not the point," Schumer said during a press conference at the Capitol.
He added that Trump "walked out after three minutes and wouldn't discuss infrastructure." Asked to describe Trump more broadly, Schumer noted that he's called the president "erratic" and "helter skelter."
Schumer's comments come as Trump pushes back on Democratic accounts of the White House meeting on infrastructure, which ended abruptly after the president walked out. Trump has described himself as "calm" during the meeting, and on Thursday, publicly asked White House aides to vouch for him.
