NORTH KOREA THREATENS DONALD TRUMP WITH ‘FIERCER’ RESPONSE UNLESS WHITE HOUSE CHANGES NUCLEAR TALKS STRATEGY
North Korea has issued a new threat to U.S. negotiators, warning that Washington will face a fierce reaction if the Americans do not adjust their strategy for sanctions relief and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
Since bilateral talks stalled at the end of February, U.S.-North Korean relations have been sliding backward toward the animosity that put President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un on the edge of war in 2017.
On Friday, a statement carried by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency struck a belligerent tone, Reuters reported.
An anonymous foreign ministry official said: “We hereby make it clear once again that the United States would not be able to move us even an inch with the device it is now weighing in its mind, and the further its mistrust and hostile acts towards the [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] grow, the fiercer our reaction will be.”
