I live in Spokane Washington. We have three local T.V stations. On the local news all three do the same thing. They show a clip by Trump that is a provable lie. They do not say that after checking his statement is not true. Instead they show it and move on thus lying by omission. If you turn on the am radio every other station has RUSH LIMBAUGH OR SEAN HANNITY or some other HATE jock. It's no wonder the average citizen that does not visit sites like this or employ critical thinking are so brainwashed into believing lies. Is it only here or is it that way where you live?

(18,770 posts)Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBG) is a publicly traded American telecommunications conglomerate which is controlled by the family of company founder Julian Sinclair Smith. Headquartered in the Baltimore suburb of Hunt Valley, Maryland, the company is the largest television station operator in the United States by number of stations, and largest by total coverage; owning or operating a total of 193 stations across the country in over 100 markets (covering 40% of American households), many of which are located in the South and Midwest, and is the largest owner of stations affiliated with Fox and ABC. Sinclair also owns four digital multicast networks (Comet, Charge!, Stadium, and TBD) and one cable network (Tennis Channel) and streaming service (Stirr), and owns or operates four radio stations in the Pacific Northwest. Among other non-broadcast properties, Sinclair also owns the professional wrestling promotion Ring of Honor and its streaming service Honor Club.
Sinclair has faced scrutiny from some media critics, as well as some of its station employees, for the conservative slant of their stations' news reporting and other programming decisions, and how the company's rapid growth has aided the airing of content that supports these views. Sinclair has also faced criticism over business practices that circumvent concentration of media ownership regulations, particularly the use of local marketing agreements, accusations that the company had been currying favor with the Trump administration in order to loosen these rules and about its management lacking diversity and being totally controlled by a single family. Critics including former news anchor Dan Rather have described Sinclair's practices as being "an assault on our democracy" by disseminating what they perceive to be Orwellian-like propaganda to its local stations.
they suck... hard!

(4,305 posts)Luckily we do have one TV station that isn't as bad as the others. Radio is another thing. 24/7 and if they hear it on the radio then by golly it must be true because all those people on the radio are fox people and fox people don't lie.

(65 posts)Yes I only watch for the weather and as soon as it's over I say goodbye. Spokane has gotten more liberal but the outlying rural areas are deep red.

(535 posts)Did you see the rally/bake sale in the Valley this week for Liberty State secessionists? Attended by a city councilman and county prosecutor. Disgusting.
