Agreement to delay enforcing Deutsche Bank, Capital One subpoenas

Lawyers for President Donald Trump have reached an agreement with the House Intelligence and Financial Services committees to hold off for now on enforcing the subpoenas for Trump's financial records from Deutsche Bank and Capital One, according to a court document and a source familiar with the agreement.

Similar to a deal reached earlier this week with the House Oversight committee, the agreement allows for an expedited appeal schedule.

"The parties have reached an agreement regarding compliance with and enforcement of the subpoenas during the pendency of Plaintiff's appeal," the court document filed Saturday reads.

Earlier this week, Judge Edgardo Ramos in New York had refused to block the subpoenas, setting off a one-week clock for the Trump team to find a way to prevent extensive financial information from being released. The agreement blocks the subpoenas for now until an appeals court can weigh in ...

2. Because Trump has appealed that judge's ruling to a higher court

The subpoena ruling is currently awaiting second decision on appeal that is expected to be expedited.

4. From What I'm Reading Here

It was voluntary and my question is why. Good sportsmanship?

7. See below. It's so there won't be separate appeals of the judges' denials of stays

pending appeal, which they could do otherwise. It's nothing to do with good sportsmanship and it will make the whole process go faster.

3. Well, they had a week to turn over the documents,

I was hoping they would get turned over before Trump could appeal, but I'm guessing that Trump's lawyers would have stepped in and appealed before documents could have been turned over. The committee got a promise that the appeals court will expedite its decision. Any lawyers here? I know you're lurking. What is the definition of expedite? 3 months, 6 months, 12 months?

9. Indeed. The truth is coming out and it is damaging. Perhaps he will be impeached after all.

When there is hard, irrefutable evidence in pukes fake ...they are going to defend that? Methinks not.

I love this impeachment HANGING OVER HIS HEAD as well. Forget a death by a thousand cuts, this will be death by a thousand pinpricks.

The tRump die hards? no. Anything for the person that will carry their agenda and talking points. I've tried talking with them and they are incorrigible.. Facts mean nothing.
Now the more reasonable, thinking tRumper....... maybe.. The general population I think in the face of overwhelming evidence will VOTE HIM OUT!!
My hopes and dreams...

13. Like he doesn't already look bad.

Depending on the poll 56 to 60 percent say they'll vote for someone other than Trump.

16. Someone on MSNBC said that in addition to getting the appeal over with faster,

the D's saw an advantage to dumping a bunch of these cases on the Supreme Court all at once -- so their obstruction would be very clear.

5. It's so there won't be separate appeals of the denials of the stays,

which would have slowed everything down by weeks. This is not a concession in any respect.
