EU elections..28 countries have 751 elected

True, their overall population is larger than the US, but I think we certainly need more than the 535 we are currently restricted to.

Our founders wanted each representative to have only 30K as their electorate.

with the constitution, particularly the basic laws and balance of power among the branches of government. But, anything to do with population of the country was completely unforeseeable for them. There were less than 4 million people when the constitution was written. It has certainly stood the test of time as an instrument of Democracy, at least until this current President, Republicans, and sycophant AG have upset the balance of power.

But there is no way they could have predicted how large the US would become, or how many people would live here. Almost 100 times as many as there era. It is patently unfair that top of the list California, pop. 39 million has two Senators the same as each of the bottom 20 states combined to make 40 million in population. That gives the least populated states entirely too much clout in the Senate. They can rule by minority if they are like minded politically. That gives 13% of the population 40 of 100 Senate votes. Ridiculous.

There could and maybe should be 100 senators, but it should be a bit more evenly divided. For example; CA-5, TX & FL4, NY, VA, IL, OH, GA, NC, and MI each 3, WY, VT, AK, ND, SD, DE, RI, MT, ME, and NH each one. The rest of the states get two seats.

As fair as the Founders made our laws, they would probably have wanted equity in the both Houses of Congress based on populations, especially since there is such a vast difference. Much like their rules for the Representatives where states have varied numbers of seats. But will still maintain the integrity of 100 seats in the Senate.
