Scotland to have second independence referendum in 2020, according to Nicola Sturgeon

The Guardian, May 27, 2019

Scotland should hold a second independence referendum next year, the SNP leader, Nicola Sturgeon, says. The country’s first minister made the comments on a visit to Dublin, where she said the latter half of 2020 would be the “right time” for a new poll.

“There will be another Scottish independence referendum and I will make a prediction today that Scotland will vote for independence and we will become an independent country just like Ireland, and the strong relationship between our two countries now will become even stronger soon.
We voted over 60% to remain...Scotland has been treated with contempt by Westminster and people are contrasting that with Ireland, that has been shown real solidarity and support from the European Union.Suddenly, this idea of being a small independent country in the European Union, we only have to look at Ireland to see the benefits of that and many people are having their eyes opened.”

The Brexit idiots (Farage etc) never mention Northern Ireland or Scotland in their appeal to the voters. A UK without Scotland is coming soon.

A great remain position and Labour will be will the source of their resurrection.

Not once did any Brexiteers ever mention would the UK be stronger without Scotland? Would the Good Friday Agreements hold up if the UK brexits. I feel so sorry for the remainers. It must be a nightmare!

And the borders go up again in the north, I predict right here and now that the north will end up leaving the UK.

Why they would reopen those wounds again, just baffles me.

Not scheduling one. I believe UK Parliament has input on whether that vote happens.

Everything you read and hear about Scotland and Brexit draws the same conclusion. And the argument for independence is primarily an economic one.

Pro-EU Scottish Nationalists defeat Brexit party in Scotland
Fresh demonstration of divergence of political trends in UK
May 27, 2019 4:30 pm by Mure Dickie , Scotland Correspondent, and Jim Pickard , Chief Political Correspondent

The strongly anti-Brexit Scottish National party won a resounding victory in European Parliament elections, a fresh demonstration of the divergence of political trends between Scotland and its neighbours to the south.

The SNP came first in all but two of Scotland’s 32 council areas, taking an unprecedented three of the nation’s six seats and easily defeating the Brexit party in second place with 15 per cent, less than half its share of the overall UK vote.

The English destroyed their nation. I can hardly believe it. It's heartbreaking.
