Am I crazy or does it appear that the orange wonder thinks his reelection is secure.

He is behaving like he knows something we don't. Maybe he knows what Putin already has in place, but it is terrifying. He is either delusional, which is very possible, or he knows he will win no matter what. Scares the crap out of me.

He lives in his own bubble, created and maintained by a collection of sycophants and climbers, in which his deplorable base represents almost the entire country, and the people who oppose him are a tiny, stupid minority. There might be a small corner of his deranged brain in which he is dimly aware that he is not universally adored, but that makes him try even harder to maintain the illusion. I don't think he knows of any secret plots to steal the election - he just believes everybody loves him so there's no way he can lose.

to get elected last time, which is why he was so insistent that there was "no collusion" - he wants to believe that he did it all by himself because he's so fcking awesome. He won't reject their help but he won't ask for it, because that would be an acknowledgment that he needs it.

that he cannot imagine losing, people here, and thinking people everywhere, need to understand that neither his losing the 2020 election, nor the election of whoever the Democratic nominee turns out to be, is guaranteed.

In 2016 far too many people assumed that Hillary had it in the bag, ignored the reality of the Electoral College, and voila! President Trump.

We are in real danger that the many Democrats running simply tear each other apart. This a bit of that going on already, and it could get nasty.

presiding over a booming economy. Anyone else in his shoes would have 55% approval ratings at least. They'd be a shoo-in.

In poll after poll, the number voters who sat they won't for him exceeds 50%. Trump can win, but as of right now he's in the underdog position.

I panic. Do we exist in our little over-informed, bubble world and the outside-the-bubblers think Trump is just fine? I'm totally terrified about the next election and, at the same time, wondering if the 18 months until it happens will move as slowly as the day-to-day nightmare seems to be moving now. I'm so sick and tired of the orange nitwit and his entourage of sycophants.

Those are distinct thumb-on-the-scale advantages.

Democratic voters MUST turn out in massive numbers to neutralize those obstacles.

Even he thought he was going to lose.

You know who didn’t think he was going to lose? Who was quite confident that he would win?

Mitch McConnell.

He was so confident that he decided to hold open a Supreme Court justice space indefinitely so that “the next President” could have the opportunity to nominate their choice.

He sure didn’t think he was doing that favor for Hillary Clinton, even though the media was giving her a 90% chance of winning.

Mitch McConnell knew he was going to win in 2016.

I wonder if he’s as confident about 2020?

As you said... there is no way he held that Supreme Court seat open for Hillary Clinton to fill with a more liberal candidate. I don't want to sound conspiracy-minded, but that would have been a dumb move on his part unless he knew something. And he is not dumb.

a person would have to win an election first! tRUMP didn't win in 2016, he used corruption to attain high office and that's an impeachable offense!
