Justin Amash gets standing ovation at his town hall tonight. Maddow covering some

of it right now..........

Watch GOP Rep Justin Amash get a 30 second long standing ovation at the beginning of his town hall event. Amash is the first GOP Rep to say Trump should be impeached. Looks like his district agrees with him—and the rest of Sane America. #TheResistanceRises

Here’s @JustinAmash, a Republican in a Republican district, getting an ovation from the crowd after defending his position that Trump should be impeached.

See @GOP? You don’t all *have* to be cowards.

Impeachment is a bigger winner than lotsa Dem's think. If Amash can get a standin' ovation at a Tea Party town hall pushin' impeahment, surely Dems can sell it to their party.

Amash takes a swing at his “so-called leader,” @GOPLeader, who had accused him of seeking attention w his Trump tweets. “I read the Mueller report. I’m sure he didn’t read it. He resorted to ad hominem attacks; that’s the kind of ‘leadership’ we now have in Congress."

Turns a low level headline, somewhere, not likely on fox spews, - and makes it into a big event.

Pretty rare moment in politics. @justinamash says some of his colleagues agree with him about President Trump and the Mueller report but won't speak out publicly.

I believe that this was a profile in courage moment. Rep Amash will probably knows he will pay a price in his next GOP primary but had the courage of his convictions anyway.

Rep. Amash is a Tea-Party type. Nevertheless, you have to admire someone who speaks the truth as s/he sees it - the consequences notwithstanding. Such intellectual honesty is woefully wanting in today's GOP.

because he represents Grand Rapids Michigan. Home of Betsy DeVos and her clan. Hey, I'll welcome them all to our side, but I've had personal interaction with individuals from that geographic area and some of them are to the right of Attila the Hun. That said, I hope he's on the up and up.

that what should be a unanimous reaction is instead a lone outlier to the only republican in the entire Congress willing to tell it like it is.

Republicans.
