DOJ policy merely prevented him from indicting Trump while in the White House.

accused can't clear his name in court.

That's what the DOJ policy says. The president can't be indicted for a crime while in office. Which means if he's accused there would be no trial which could possibly clear him of the crime.

He definitely committed a crime, but it's up to Congress to investigate and impeach. That's the only remedy to the problem.
