during a press conference. We got to see Stitt grinning and bobbing his head in agreement with Dear Leader. He looked like he was talking with his prom date.

Meanwhile, because Dear Leader is too busy getting his butt kissed to deal with the disaster, FEMA is only working with the state and not helping those who need help.

12 homes in Logan County have fallen into the Cimarron River. How many more will we lose?

Spent a year living in Oklahoma and believe me whenever a wildfire ripped through California they would say "It's God's wrath for coddling queers and allowing abortion!"

Also these are the same folks who told me in so many words that we don't need to be concerned about climate change because Jesus is coming "any day now".

So fuck Oklahoma.

I apologize for my language towards you. It made me very angry when I read that. It's as if homes were destroyed, people hurt or killed, they deserved what they got because of how they may have voted. You are assuming that Oklahoma residents 100% voted for tRump and other repubs.

A lot of us live in red states, yet some like you continue to look down on red states as a whole and the people in them. You and others feel we deserve whatever we get when it comes to natural disasters because the majority voted repub.

I listened to a woman in a VA waiting room say that gawd cleaned out New Orleans using Katrina. So, yeah, it's not much different to me.

It's just too sad how much people are losing. The tough thing is that people stick by their bad decision and then they suffer the consequences. I suppose people here get angry because we're all forced to suffer the consequences.

Every year I hope we can put off turning on the air conditioners until some time in June. But we always give in during May. Not this year. We haven't had them on at all and even turned the heat back on yesterday. And it snowed about a week ago. I've been living here west of Denver since 1976 and have only experienced snow in May while camping in the mountains. It's unnatural down here at the lower elevations and I worry about our native trees like the cottonwood. The cool, wet spring we're having feels eerie. The unknown is starting to get to me. What's happening south of us in Oklahoma can't be far behind us up here in some form or other.

Btw,

How they voted doesn't mean people deserve whatever bad that comes their way. No one knows if these rash of tornadoes is a part of a normal weather pattern or attributed to global warming. I grew up with rashes of tornadoes like this in Oklahoma.

My AC came on last month in April. We're having 90 degree weather and no, I'm not going to languish in an oven of a house either.

The implication being that they then would get rid of a guy like Inhoff who was the subject of the OP.

The news out of Oklahoma, according to the OP, is that the state is under water. That's probably not literal. But what's happening is unnatural for the area. We get hail here every year here in Denver metro and we can fairly predict several hail storms. But at some point it could be happening so frequently that we'd start examining why. It feels like Oklahoma could be at the point where these current weather events are far out of the expected life threatening experiences and warrant investigation about why they're occurring with such frequency and severity.

I'd feel better about things if I was weighing if it was time to turn on the ac than if we should turn the heat back on. I'm worried about the flora and fauna. Due to our climate changing we're now starting to get the beetles that attack roses. I never believed I'd see that here in the Denver area. That's just one very tiny example of things changing for the worse. But the origins probably go to the flabbiness of the jet stream caused by the melting of the polar ice cap. That being the same reason Oklahoma is experiencing much fiercer weather. We need the conservative states to reach a tipping point in their thinking or humanity won't make it much further.

I figure that I'm done. Please take the last word if you wish. I need to go start supper. Be well and thanks for the conversation. I truly appreciate getting things straight with you since I've respected your opinion on issues for years.

but they are really getting it there.

Are we certain we are on the right site? I see a lot of people here talking about letting people hurt because of the way they vote. Us too? Our friends and neighbors too? I am beginning to wonder about some people around here. I thought we were compassionate and not so selective as to not help those in need or to provide compassion to others even if they do not do the same. Boy THAT is going to help a lot of things. Way to not be them.

I hope we get a rest, I think I just posted to you in another thread. It has been a long few weeks hasn't it? It won't be over for some time with all this water around. I hope you are OK. Last night was terrifying and we need a rest but apparently only for some of us.

During the Brownback administration we heard a lot of that here in Kansas but even Brownback, as horrible as he is, was more compassionate than what I am seeing here. Must be nice to live in a pure blue, everyone is just like you place so that you deserve help when you need it. It almost sounds like....nevermind. Not a fan of the Bible but I do believe we help each other and if we don't we are the problem not the solution.
