"The question we have to ask is: would Trump sell America's secrets to protect his own secrets?"

Eric Swalwell: "The question we have to ask is, would Donald Trump sell America's secrets to protect his own secrets? I think it's likely this guy's always looking to protect himself."

Exactly. And we all know the answer...

NOTE: this post is re: Trump and his treachery, need for impeachment, and our national security-- Swalwell is speaking as a member of House Judiciary Committee, not about the primaries, so I DO believe GD is the right place for it. WHO said it is immaterial to what was said

the question should be "DID he already?" I have a feeling it is too late to prevent that. He has no commitment to this country, he LOVES people like Putin and Kim. He admires them tremendously, since they kill their enemies without a second thought. Don the Con would love that power. As things stand now, he just encourages his brainless followers to do the dirty work for him.

Trump has publicly demonstrated his loyalty to Putin and has clearly acted as a willing stooge in concert with Putin's agendas.

Why else would he meet person to person with Putin and no one else from his administration in the room? Why else would there be the secret computer link direct to Putin in his Trump Tower offices? Why else would his son in law, among other Trump proxies speak off the record, repeatedly, to Putin's representatives in Moscow?

As far as particulars go I have no doubt that Trump would tell Putin anything at all which would garner favor, or protect Trump interests. I doubt that Putin can actually do anything to protect Trump from prosecution, although he may have leverage over certain members of the Senate and House. It is possible that Putin holds sway if only through proxies over one or more SCOTUS members but I have no evidence of that. Allegiance to arch-conservative causes and obedience to the powers that placed them on the bench likely have more influence there.

You don't ever want to give that kind of power to a malignant narcissist totally consumed by self-indulgence who at any moment may place his personal interests over the country's. He may not even know there's a difference. And not just selling secrets. I'm afraid it could be anything up to and including dropping bombs.

Trump voters and his Republican toadies have endangered the world, possibly for years to come.
