Responses to "Hillary started birtherism" RW meme?

Last edited Mon Aug 27, 2012, 11:03 PM - Edit history (1)

My brother flung this at me on Facebook.

He was basically trying to assert an equivalence between Romney's birth certificate joke and, well, pretty much all Democrats. How would you field this one? I mainly focused on the inconsistency between the headline and the story (the headline wrongly implying Hillary started this) and the fact that I've yet to meet a Democrat who was a "birther."

that if Pres. Obama was not really born in this country then "The Clinton Machine" would have exposed that and he never would have won the nomination.

That shut him right up. I think they are all in awe of Pres. Clinton.

clown car. Some of their Romney attacks were spot on. Ain't going away. Didn't poison them any if they were first raised by Republicans.

A RW creation to attempt to suppress the Democratic turnout. It was total BS.

PUMA was a a Clinton creation. They were Republicans manipulating a political divide with hate and lies. Period.

This has now reached the level of "I'm rubber, you're glue." Isn't it past time for everyone to prove they're adults and move on to "big folk" discussions? I know I'm getting desperate for adult debate of our myriad problems -- the real problems, not the fabricated bullshit.

They don't have any politician with enough gravitas to go up against Obama so they steal the Clintons. They have even put the clintons in some of their ads against Obama. What does your brother say to that? Their candidate will not contrast himself with Obama in an ad? What a pathetic bunch the GOP are.

He clearly favors Rmoney over Obama but likes to pose as an independent or third-party guy. He also posts stuff suggesting no difference between the parties (though he'd certainly swing Libertarian or even Constitution Party before, say, Green). Here's his response to a series of posts lamenting Romney's birth certificate remarks and the reaction to them:

You all need to take a Xanax. What did you all think about Biden telling a group of minorities that Republicans would 'put 'em all back in chains'. I can't wait until all of this hyperventilating ends. To pretend like Democrats take the higher ground on more issues is ridiculous. I don't remember folks getting in an uproar over Hillary Clinton's staff and their fueling of the birther movement. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/8478044/Birther-row-began-with-Hillary-Clinton.html
