We need an Ellis Island Southwest

I don't understand why we can't build an Ellis Island South that would house, care for, provide medical care and process immigration requests with the same speed we did in the 18th and 19th century.

We are the richest country on the planet. You could fund this type of facility for 30 years for the cost of one aircraft carrier.

2. That's partly the idea of the sanctuary cities

Ellis Island wasnt exactly a pinnacle of medical care though.

We have almost the same thing today, except that sanc cities provide a higher level medical care, but they don't provide the citizenship and paperwork.
