I for one am shocked that it isn't a rent boy dressing up as Sarah Palin for the closet cases of the GOP.
Sarah Palin may be a no-show at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, but, for some delegates at least, it seems her porn star double Lisa Ann is an adequate substitute.
The adult film actress, who has been making bank from her Palin resemblance since 2008, is best known to mainstream audiences from her role as Serra Paylin in the political porn parody Who's Nailin' Paylin?.
A dental assistant by trade, Ann arrived in Tampa over the weekend to perform a GOP-themed strip show at Thee DollHouse strip club on N. Westshore Blvd.
"Sarah Palin is in the house tonight!" Ann I mean Paylin exclaimed, before proceeding to remove her business skirt and black corset to reveal the two things that clearly set her apart from the GOP's 2008 VP nominee her 38DDs.

(25,699 posts)What would Palin herself think if she knew a delegate she wound up speaking to had just watched a Palin impersonator hump a brass pole. I mean I don't give her a lot of credit, but I can't imagine there's anyway that could NOT be awkward.

(115,673 posts)First, it's disgusting that anybody could have the hots over Palin, or her imitator - though we can be damn sure FreeRepublic has been populated for the last four years with zitty, overweight, Cheeto-stained one-handed bloggers whose keyboards have become sticky due to their adoration of Caribou Barbie.
And another really disgusting thing - notwithstanding that Palin was less qualified to be a major party's candidate's running mate than just about any person randomly selected off the street - is that any female selected (even stupidly) as a candidate for high office should be degraded by a stripper impersonating her, or, for that matter, the aforementioned zitty freepers wanking over her in their parents' basements. Even if that candidate is as dumb as a box of hammers.

(30,252 posts)While I do affirm that Sarah Palin is a self-serving, teabagging, demagogue hack who thought she could wink her way into the White House and who bailed out of serving as Governor of Alaska when the media spotlight got a little too hot, I would venture that if this same person was instead an Obama-supporting, pro-woman, pro-labor, pro-choice, GLBT-supporting Democrat, there would be no disgust if anyone at DU had the slightest crush on her, married or no.
As it stands, however, beauty is only skin-deep - and Palin's mouth has been producing a whole mess of ugliness since 2008. That, to me, is a turnoff.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,673 posts)liked Palin only because they thought she was hot. And yes, if a female Dem candidate had been appreciated only because of her perceived hotness I would be equally disgusted. Much as I dislike Palin I think it's repulsively disrespectful to regard a female political candidate, even a dumb one, as nothing but wank material and the subject of an impersonation by a stripper.

(30,252 posts)But, as Tim Minchin once observed, "We're just fucking monkeys in shoes." As a species, hopefully we'll get our act together one of these days. Until then, I'm afraid we may be stuck with the Lisa Anns of this world.

(29,674 posts)If someone can make a few dollars in what is a legal profession, good for them. Times are still tough for many of us out here and I'll give her credit for finding a creative way to earn a few dollars.
What is a bit more disturbing is that her biggest supporters seem to be the ones who want to see someone impersonate her while stripping. It shows how little respect they really have for women in general.

2. They like to sexualize even the politicians they are supposed to respect and revere. To them, Sarah Palin is just another "gash in a short, tight skirt".

(33,688 posts)the REPUBLICAN convention. The crowd is a Republican crowd there to do Republican business. There would be no logical reason for the club to book her if it were the Democrats, or the Elks, Masons or American Legion in town. Who else would pay $$$ to get into a strip joint featuring a Palin lookalike other than Repugs?
redqueen
(115,103 posts)If not for the convention there would be no reason to feel sorry for Palin because the porn doesn't matter, just this one appearance at a strip club. Good thinking.

I can guess-timate, but YMMV.
If a "devotee" of strip clubs goes once per week, and spends:
10 bucks cover
10 bucks for drinks (min)
100 on "tips"
that's 120*52 = 6240
Not a small chunk of change!
No addiction is pretty, or noble.
