I was telling a friend that 'Luckily Isaac is only a Cat1 Hurricane'

She reminded me that when Hurricane Ike hit Galveston TX that it was only a Cat1 and she was without power for 2 weeks.

Sending good vibes to all our friends and loved ones including members here at DU who are in the path of Isaac. I hope that you make it thru this ok and please report in when you're up and running again so we know you're safe!

I swear we've been able to smell the winds from Isaac here in New Mexico. Be safe everyone, and wise.

Isaac is moving slowly. A lot of rain is going to fall and create more flooing than a faster moving storm.
The NE had so much trouble with Irene because the ground was soaked from previous rain and trees were much easier to be uprooted from the soft soil.

Just when you think you have most problems covered.....
