I'm not sure what bothers the right wingers the most, the things she says or the fact that she dresses like an adult and not like someone who can be ignored.

A lovely, compassionate and great woman who used to write a column I read on a regular basis. She's a beautiful example of compassion, in my view a woman of greater breadth than Mother Teresa.

screws to the Vatican, who will find ways to disenfranchise them and even ex-communicate them. It's happened before and will happen again. Nothing will change until the Catholics get a more progressive Pope.

"I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."

Her text: Sister Joan Chittister, a Benedictine nun, had this to say on Bill Moyers' show in November of 2004:

"I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."

What a true Christian, greatly to be admired and emulated. She is a blessing to all who heed her words.
