has just come by with his usual July 4th practice of sticking flags in each of our front lawns with his business card attached. I'll do what I normally do and go out immediately and cut the card off the flag and remove the flag early morning July 5th.
I also will email him and ask if he used taxpayers' money to purchase the flags.

(9,140 posts)who ran to Walmart after 9/11 to purchase their $19.95, made in China, instant patriot kits. Those things were virtually walking, talking violations of the flag code. Flags flown from rolled up in car windows were violations in-and-of themselves. The flag is supposed to be displayed on the right front fender of an automobile or attached firmly to the chassis. It's not to be flown at night unless lighted (as you noted), in inclement weather unless waterproof, and should never be displayed if soiled or frayed. I've seen better looking rags than those flags after 2-3 months.

(15,533 posts)I ran out to get groceries and by the time I got back I saw one laying on the ground. There are people in my neighborhood that fly a flag (I live in an old farts neighborhood) and half the time their flag is stuck in their gutter and it stays like that for months.
