Do Democrats really want to see Trump's taxes?
I mean back when the IRS was looking into Tea party 401c and 501c organizations to see if they really were non profits, Republicans were outraged. Boehner used the same statute in the law that chairman Neal is using to get 50 to 60 tax returns from IRS employees. What fucking good reason did Boehner have to demand those returns? He didn't have a good reason but the law is clear, he asked for them, end of story.
Neal waits 3 months to build a case that is already cut and dried to demand Trump's taxes. Trump/Barr don't give a shit about winning or losing court cases, they only care about delaying everything until after the election. The current Congress only has standing for 2 years then their law suit goes away with the new Congress.
David Cay Johnston is a tax law expert, he know a lot more about taxes than the lawyers here on DU know. He concludes that Democrats are going about it in the wrong way, that there is a way to immediately get Trump's taxes, or at least a much better chance to get them.

Maybe Democrats don't want to win the court case because most likely Trump will refuse to comply with a court order which everyone agrees would create a constitutional crisis that would demand impeachment, something that Speaker Pelosi doesn't want to do.
