There are more us than them.
We have over a dozen qualified, intelligent, decent people seeking our party's nomination.
We---and the above-referenced Democratic hopefuls---actually agree on most of what we want for our nation.
While the PTB have made it inconvenient for many of us, we are still able to vote for our leaders.
We are smarter than we realize and have resources---courage, tenacity and common sense---that we have overlooked for too long.
WE. ARE. RIGHT!
Vote for the Democrat!

(15,124 posts)"What's the use?" attitude, the lower the election day turnout.
Let's acknowledge the argument, but not allow it to become a self-fulfilling prophesy.

(26,241 posts)Unless more people start pushing HARD for voter turn out, available and conveniently located polling places, and vote security, we will be in a worse position, come 2020. Hopefully that fulfills acknowledging the argument.
And pardon my grumpiness. High heat and humidity, a whonky knee and broken toes has me wincing and snarling, today.

(10,134 posts)That is how Obama did it. That is how we got the House back.
More and More and more and more voters need to come out.

(26,241 posts)And wasn't it Bill Clinton who said, when the turn out is high, Democrats win. Or something like that.

(3,537 posts)But we can't afford another 4 years of the anal idiot. We have to make sure everyone knows what he's doing to this country. If we don't it will become the USR instead of the USA and that should be enough to scare anyone, well most of us, the magats are beyond our help. So, hang in because there is light at the end this long dark tunnel.

(3,363 posts)The amount of people that worship this man is terrifying. The fact that his approval never drops much below 40% is scary. I think this country is is a lost cause.

(3,363 posts)didn't involve the electoral college. Only takes 27% of voters in the right places to re-elect him.

(6,161 posts)Remember it's not who votes that counts it's who count the votes, [and how they count]?
Here is a more detailed version and explanation.
In short: it is apocryphal quote, i.e. not from some published texts of Stalin but from memoirs of some person who claims to be Stalin secretary for some time in 1920s (unconfirmed). It says (apply correction for several translations back and forth):I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this who will count the votes, and how.. It was not about voting in general, but about one specific vote of Central Committee of Communist Party. Stalin was chairman of Central Committee and was responsible for the organization of its meetings.
