There was another awful mistake that I cannot remember. That is why he said, "took over the airports" in my opinion. He cannot see the teleprompter clearly, and didn't practice the speech. (Another sign of a lazy, stupid person) This is an important speech, and he did not read it ahead of time. So, he didn't know what was in the speech. If he knew, then he would have read it correctly. Trump would not being made fun of. Too lazy to read it ahead of time, or too prideful to wear glasses. He would rather be made fun of, then read the speech correctly. The other mistake was just as stupid and was caused by the same idea. He couldn't read the teleprompter clearly. (important note:....This is my opinion, no proof whatsoever], because I don't know nothing ) just makes a lot of sense, and explains the "why" of what happened.

(26,259 posts)I suspect his handlers will just ignore the whole situation, as if he never said any of that nonsense.

(38,419 posts)Trump will viciously put them down. That is who Trump is. So full of vanity, that he refuses to wear glasses (if this opinion is correct) instead, he looks incredibly "stupid" for reading a speech wrong. Not the first time. If this opinion is correct, then it won't be the last time either.

(38,419 posts)"Read this ahead of time." then that aid would get smacked down. So, they leave him alone. That is another reason why this could have happened. The aids were afraid to tell him he needed to read it ahead of time.

(38,419 posts)The top picture is significant. He is riding in a car, and perhaps he wants to read something. He is alone and it is private so he puts the glasses on. I don't know about the second one. Trump doesn't care if he makes stupid mistakes, because he never apologizes for nothing. He just looks stupid. He would rather embarrass himself and his country than put on glasses so he can read clearly. Or take the time to read the speech a couple of times ahead of time. Either of those would have prevented this error. But obviously, Trump doesn't give a sh*t. He will never apologize for anything he says.

(81,455 posts)There are other pics showing him reading the New York Times. And this one was in Iowa before the caucus - he was reciting the anti-immigrant poem "The Snake":
Yes, the idiot needs glasses to read. (He actually admitted it in a legal deposition)

(7,286 posts)For example from earlier pics you can see that Hillary Clinton wore thick specs.
She may have switched to contacts of had refractive surgery
Some do-Bernie, Franken, McConnel but most dont.
The rich are now having surgeries to correct their vision. Lasik and clear lens exchange with bifocal implants so they dont even need reading glasses
Rick Perry ditches glasses for portrait, defends Trump

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Ditching his now-famous black glasses Friday for his official Texas portrait, former Gov. Rick Perry is back looking like his old self but sounding far different when it comes to former presidential rival Donald Trump.
After the painting was unveiled at the state Capitol, Perry defended his enthusiastic change of heart this week about the presumptive GOP nominee. He had once called the billionaire businessman a cancer to conservatism but now says hed be willing to work in a Trump administration, even as vice president.
Trump has made no such public overtures to the longtime Texas governor, who acknowledged he hasnt spoken to Trump in months. Perry was among the first 2016 contenders to drop out of the crowded Republican field, but his short-lived campaign attacked Trump harder than most in the early stages of the race.
Trump, who once said that Perry only began wearing glasses so people will think hes smart, tweeted Thank you Rick! after Perrys endorsement.

(53,410 posts)I saw a speech he made inside the White House where the camera wandered to show the people who were sitting and it showed a Teleprompter screen. The words were huge. As big as the top line on an eye exam chart. He needs glasses.
The size of the words made it so there were very few words displayed so it explains why he does those awkward pauses where there are no commas or periods.
It also explains why he prefers to do his strange stream of consciousness rambling.
