Ariana Grande won't be in any legal trouble for her doughnut-licking controversy.
The owner of Wolfee Donuts, a shop in Los Angeles, will not press charges against Grande after a video surfaced in which she appears to lick several for-sale doughnuts and says she hates America.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department is currently working with the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health to determine whether the potentially contaminated doughnuts were subsequently sold to other customers, according to a statement released by authorities.

(47,535 posts)What happened was I clicked on your thread, read the blurb, saw the date on the link, clicked on it anyway to make sure, and confirmed that the story and the three paragraphs posted were from 2015.
What I didn't realize until right now is that you were comparing the Grande story to something else (chalk that up to my laziness in reading your subject line) and I still don't know what that something else is (chalk that up to there being no specific information about that in this thread.)
I'll go look it up now and educate myself.

(30,717 posts)and she apologized. It was a stupid thing to do.
It was quite a while ago.
I am more impressed by how she behaved after the terrorist bombing at her concert. She raised money and stood up for what is right.
I am not some little girl fan of hers. But I am willing to give her a break.

(44,972 posts)She is juvenile and will be in juvenile court. So it's impossible for her to get 20 years.

(3,145 posts)Most likely it'll be plead down to a lesser charge with some community service.
Food tampering is a serious thing so yes Ariana grande should face some sort of legal sanction as the lady in Lufkin also should.

(6,423 posts)I was expecting to hear that they actually took the ice cream back out of the case and bought it.
Mountains being made out of nothing here IMHO, yes it is a disgusting act, but I'd fine her $3000 and be done with it.
This should not become China.

(44,972 posts)Video clearly shows otherwise.
And don't you worry about the ice cream licker. As a juvenile, she won't get 20 years. So you can rest easy.

(16,076 posts)more about celebrity versus non-celebrity, more than anything else.
Rich people/celebrities get away with a whole lot more than the rest of us.
But, I'll say that in most situations white celebrity/black celebrity: the black one would get more blowback and white random teenager/black random teenager would see the same thing.
