(9,291 posts)I've been worried that no one was running against McConnell.
She must stay aggressive, must. She runs a bit flat but she has to grab every vote in this state. I wish she got some acting lessons.
I will donate funds, time and vote for her. George Clooney or Jennifer Lawrence please stop by to give her pointers. Make Mitch look like the corrupt old man that he is. Investigative journalists please start looking into McConnell's wife's dealings. Show the voters that they are being conned. We need a full court press.
Nice commercial but she's running against a dirty Russian backed power player.
Can AOC come and visit our coal miners? Obama, stop by Louisville and Mayor Pete hit Lexington.
Let's swarm this place.

(13,024 posts)Amy Mcgrath is as good a candidate as they come - genuine, caring, relatable, empathetic, sensible. Yes let's hope all the stars align behind her to give her a real boost in popularity, necessary funding and moral support to win this seat.

(70,448 posts)The people of KY have to be shown 24/7 just how corrupt Mitch is and
the very dirty voting system in KY has to be overwhelmed by blue votes.

(56,828 posts)until the last month when Mitch pulled away. We just need a candidate that can keep it close until the end.

(70,448 posts)The Democrat who was A.G. or Sec. of State had a 5 to 6 point lead going into
the vote but lost by 9 points which was a 15 point swing with no real reason
given outside of a b.s. cover story that people were upset how that nice Kim Davis,
anti gay marriage county clerk, was treated. I think that race was a trial run for
the 2016 rat fucking of America.
Keeping it close still means losing in the end we have to overwhelm them to take
back power. Mitch knows all about the dirty voting machines and other "stuff" he
knew that the fixes in and so he blocked Garland for the SCOTUS.
BTW I am already supporting a Kim in 2020

(9,958 posts)I still have family in Kentucky, and Mitch is not beloved in the state. But he is a liar and a cheat who knows how to manipulate votes to his advantage. He is vulnerable in two areas especially: efforts to take away healthcare from millions of Kentuckians and the loss of coal jobs.
I heard Kirsten Gillibrand talking about locating alternative energy manufacturers in coal country. Our Democratic frontrunners need to be selling that idea, and they need to stop promising to get rid of private healthcare insurance. Theyre scaring off voters who have good jobs and good healthcare through their employers. Healthcare for all does not demand the end of private insurance. I have Medicare and I still need private insurance. Plus, there will need to be a transition period where we cover people without healthcare first and then eventually give those with employer plans the option to move into the new plan.

(70,448 posts)As per work in "coal country" we need to give up on a certain % of voters
they are just gone because they have been so pumped full of lies, hate, and generations
of racism & just being a dumb ass that spending 1 second or 1 dollar to get them
is useless. Yes, bringing in other jobs is a good thing but it will not change their hearts
and or heads. As per me the 2 things that need to be done:
1) Show the people they should vote for their own best interests and not against them
as per Fox, Rush, and their "pastors."
2) Make sure all votes are counted. We have much more of us then they are of them. The
rural white vote is more than amplified by gerrymandering, voting machines, voter ID laws,
and the electoral college.

(15,265 posts)a roadmap on how to make McConnell the centerpiece of their quest to regain control of the Senate.
If Dems retain the House and win the Senate and if Trump were to be-relected, I predict Trump would sign every piece of legislation Dems pass. Trump has no core beliefs, but he does have a well-honed instinct for survival that would tell him working with Dems is the best thing for himself.

(2,646 posts)just like trump. Both, along with barr, are willing to destroy the American Democracy and turn the U.S. into a dictatorship.
And all the republicans in Congress are complicit in this action; therefore they are all traitors.
I hope McGrath wins....................bigly.

(13,460 posts)Volunteered a little in her congressional race, will try to do more this time. I also need to scrape up a few $$$ to send her way.
She couldn't overcome the rural areas' pure red voters in her run for the 6th district, even with 70% of the Lexington vote. Louisville is very blue though, so maybe there's a prayer.

(32,596 posts)This amazing ad shows that she has the heart to do this, but there isn't enough Dem $ support in the state of Kentucky. We need to send her whatever we can, because we ALL benefit when that evil prick McConnell finally goes down. He WILL go down, so let's do this! Let's help Amy.
