And now, they want Mr Mueller to know that if he doesn't wish to testify before the Congress, then the DOJ is willing to help him out. After all, what more can he tell them?
AG Barr said the Democrats only want to indulge in a "public spectacle". He felt so strongly about it that he decided to go before the cameras to try and get the message to Mr Mueller. He must not be returning their calls?
The worst thing that could happen is if Mr Mueller contradicted Barr and Trump in their boasts of "no collusion" and "no obstruction". That would be a little problem for the falsifiers and fabricators.
It is very important that Mr Mueller not testify before the Congress. They would like him to know that. Mr Mueller wouldn't dare to say the report said something different from what Mr Barr and Mr Trump told America that it said, would he?
What to do? What to do?

(110,950 posts)That was all the impetus Trump needed to declare himself "totally exonerated'. There was "no collusion". "no obstruction", "no nothing". Then, Barr waited three weeks to release the report to Congress.
It was then that people read it for themselves and could see that it was not what Barr and Trump said it was?
They made their comments on network television.

(25,342 posts)Unless you're aware of changes made to the report post-Mueller, the latter is the case, not the former.
They don't really have any choice but to try to stop his testimony at this point. If he's allowed to testify, Barr will likely be exposed as the political hack he is and was hired to be.

(25,342 posts)The key word is alter. "alter (information or evidence) so as to mislead."
They did not alter the report.
"Intentionally misrepresented" is accurate. Falsify is not.

(15,695 posts)For a minute there, I thought we were going to have a semantics throwdown. Barr lied about the report. Plain and simple. He falsified the findings. Defending Barr is disconcerting, don't you think? Or am I floating in The Upside Down?
