(16,903 posts)There are innumerable rescue shelters and kill shelters. Its a business.
Small shops in FL may have a back room area where they keep 2-3 dogs for rescue. Its very sad.
Thanks for the info. That is very sad.

(7,997 posts)as long as there are no exceptions made. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but they could (if they wanted to) make a law to spay/neuter dogs and cats unless special fees are paid by legitimate breeders for exceptions. The fees could be used to improve shelters and give animals more of a chance for adoption.

(64,404 posts)I'm not sure I understand the context of what you appear (to me) to be implying. For what it's worth, NO state has an across the board mandatory s/n law for all pets. I think Rhode Island is probably the closest, at least that I know of. I could be wrong.
It would be wonderful if each state did adopt a mandatory s/n policy for all domestics, I think we can agree.
Florida does at least have a statute in regards to animals that are adopted out to the public from shelters, etc that they all have to be spay/neutered one way or another. So, not quite NO spay/neuter laws. Not none, nor zero, nor zip, nor nada.

But one of my 2 furkids would be terrified of someone in such a costume - Halloween terrifies her almost as much as the 4th does.
FL is a bad state for both kids and furries.

(6,543 posts)I had a Siamese who loved to ride in the car. She was more like a dog than a cat. When she was with me she had full access to the car interior. Her favorite spot was curled up in the back window.
