What worries me is I look at those people in those cages, especially the children and I wonder if anyone on the outside know who they are and where they are. And I don't think ICE or the DHS is worried about doing a good job of documenting them. If a hundred or even hundreds of them disappeared, who would know and who could prove it? Not even Congress knows. The table is set for atrocities to happen. If it hasn't happened yet, the only reason is that alive they are worth $775 a day to the private companies holding them, but even that count could be rigged. It sickens me to describe the situation in those terms, but that's what's happening.

13. The problem is that like it or not Trump is enforcing our current laws

These people have final deportation orders against them, they have been through the system and had their due process. We have to change those laws, we don't allow enough people to immigrate legally, merit based immigration wI'll just make that worse. The US follows the UN guidelines on asylum and refugees, those guidelines do not include people who are fleeing gangs and street crime, currently less than 30% of applicants are granted asylum in the US.

Fixing the system will not be easy, we will have to work with the Republicans and they are in a strong position. US laws are pretty much on par with other developed countries and a good number of people freak out at any suggestions at open border and do want our immigration laws enforced. Luckily Trump and his people have gone far overboard in their rhetoric and enforcement but don't be so sure that will carry over when everyone grows up and gets down to serious negotiations.
