Whenever you see policy polling from Florida or Michigan or wherever, and

people have inexplicable attitudes, bear in mind that they are seeing ENDLESS political ads targeted to their markets.

I have no idea what someone in Ohio is bombarded with. Or Nevada. Etc..

And even if you live on one of those states, with cable the targeting is such that the channels YOU watch may offer a whole different sense of the ad wars than a channel someone else watches.

People in swing states, at this point in the campaign, are being pushed more by ad than by current events.

I watch Ohio TV stations, and there are just as many ads from Obama as there are from Romney (of super PACs). The people who have really crazy attitudes had them before the ads started. You believe what you want to believe, and you ignore the rest as bullshit. These ads are aimed at the swing voters, and I am not sure how that will all play out.

When you see a poll like that, it tells you that Romney is running a lot of anti-Obama ads about medicare in Florida.

There is not real-world event that could be moving that attitude there... the news coverage would, if anything, have the opposite effect.

Meanwhile, some other state is getting the welfare ads 24/7. (I would guess you are, in Ohio)

I live in a blue part of a swing state, and I have never seen one of the welfare ads except on the internet. I see tons of the "I voted for Oama and he's a nice guy, but it's time for a change."

Gotta love that they have a black guy who is disappointed in that one. Americans for something-or-other running that one. I have to give them credit for that ad though, since it isn't as slimy as others that I have been seeing.

But yes, I have not seen anything much about Medicare in ads....yet. No welfare ads though, and that is a surprise since this is a very hard-hit area.

That's why anybody who can, hopefully will donate to Dems, especially Obama, before Friday night so they can buy the most TV time they can. So infuriating but that's what it comes down to. Just spread the poison and repeat, repeat, repeat. AWFUL!!!! 'Cause sooner or later, that barrage will start to wear some people down. And if they can just wear down enough of 'em...

There are ads everywhere. I don't watch much TV, but if you go to a lot of restaurants, there are tVs everywhere and the ads are there. They're on the radio. You get phone calls. There are billboards. You get things mailed to you. And of course Tricky Mitt's ads lie so horribly that I want to pull my hair out every time I see one. I'll be bald by November.
