Of the kickoff for her run for the presidency in 2016. Frankly, it was the best speech of the Republican convention so far. Ryan will have his hand full in topping her tonight. The PDB of August 6, 2001 will be the albatross that blocks her path as that was a failure of gigantic proportions.

If she even begins to think about it, she will quickly come up against the reality of running for office, which is absolutely nothing like the jobs in academia she held before she moved into government. She absolutely does not have any kind of experience or background that would make her consider for thirty seconds running for president.

And if I'm wrong, any campaign of hers would end with remarkable swiftness. Oh, I can see some Republicans getting all starry-eyed over having a black female Republican President, but the racism and sexism of that party isn't going to come to a screeching halt in the next four years.

Could preternaturally self-composed National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice actually have a roiling inner life? Is she tormented by needs, longings, embarrassing fantasies? So the world wondered after New York reported what it benevolently called a "poignant faux pas" committed by Rice at a recent D.C. dinner party. What Rice reportedly said was this: "As I was telling my husb—" before abruptly breaking off and correcting herself: "As I was telling President Bush." Jaws dropped, we're told. And though nobody thinks Bush and Rice are "actually an item," we were nevertheless reminded that the unmarried Condi does regularly spend weekends with the president and first lady.

National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice claimed no-one "could have predicted that they would try to use an airplane as a missile.

No one will ever convince me that they were so incompetent as to not know after the August 6 Presidential briefing that Bin Laden was going to attack the US. They knew what was coming and they did nothing. They let it happen. She deserves nothing less than to be reminded of her complicity in the deaths of 3000 Americans' over 4000 US troops and over 250,000 Iraqis.

Later in an interview with Andrea Mitchell, Condi (9/11 happened on my watch? Really?) claimed that the work of two administrations brought Bin Laden down. The pieces were set in place RIGHT after 9/11.

That's why it took all those years and an entirely different administration to actually HAPPEN.

Rice Denies Book's Assertion She Brushed Off CIA Terror Warning

`Incomprehensible,' she says of the idea that she ignored Tenet's anxiety over a strike before 9/11.

By Paul Richter
LA Times Staff Writer
October 3, 2006

State Department officials acknowledged late Monday that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was at a 2001 meeting where she was reportedly warned of the need to act on an impending terrorist threat to the United States.

They said she met with then-CIA Director George J. Tenet on or around July 10. A new book by Bob Woodward says she brushed off Tenet's warning at that session.

SNIP...

"The idea that I would have ignored that, I find incomprehensible," Rice told reporters late Sunday during the flight. "I am quite certain that it was not a meeting in which I was told that there was an impending attack, and refused to respond."

The State Department said Monday that a meeting around the time described by Woodward had in fact taken place, based on government records, but that no new information was given to Rice, who then was President Bush's national security advisor.

In his book, Woodward writes that Tenet and J. Cofer Black, then director of the CIA's counterterrorism center, decided on July 10, 2001, that they had to request a dramatic, "out-of-cycle" meeting with Rice to describe their anxiety over the chance of an attack against American interests, possibly within the United States.
