In 2018 ALL the trumpers voted. They always do.

But we finally had a 50 state strategy. And despite Speaker Pelosi getting beat up here lately she had a lot to do with it. She saw that if we gave moderate districts a moderate Democratic candidate to vote for, talking about kitchen table issues we would win. And we did. Tom Perez probably deserves more credit, and as appropriate for a man in his position we hear nothing from him. To busy organizing. Its been too long since we had one like him.

It not an accident that most of our front runners are not getting caught up in the news cycle of the day but still focusing on bread and butter issues. They know that once all the noise is out of the system and it is down to trump vs one of us, these issues will win the day again. All this squad stuff will recede in the background and if the republicans try to run on that vs our real issues, like they tried in 18 with Pelosi as the villain, they will lose.

Losing the house was a disaster for the republicans and they did not see it coming. It insures the only legislative accomplishment trump has is a very unpopular tax cut. Current house contributions indicate they have written it off in 20.

We should harness the anger but not be driven by it. Steady eyes wins the prize.
